Review: Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker System

No matter where you look, you are sure to find many glowing reviews for the Logitech Z-5500 5. 1 speaker system, but should you believe the hype? Read on to find out why the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system should be on your list of products to consider for your next sound system purchase.

The Logitech Z-5500 speakers system is for serious audiophiles. It is well known for being a very versatile audio system as well.

The Z-5500 system is the follow up to the highly acclaimed Logitech Z-680 system. The styling has been improved and performance has been upgraded from the previous model.

Included in the box you will find a huge subwoofer, four satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, a wireless remote, and a control module that features inputs for digital and analog devices so no matter what device you need mind blowing audio for, you can be sure that compatibility will not be an issue.

The control interface measures in at around 9″ x 4. 5″ and includes a stand for easy tabletop access. On a side note, it looks just plain cool sitting on your desktop. The screen on the control module is backlit and features a two line text screen logitech gaming software download and 6 buttons that makes configuration a breeze. Right in the middle you will find the big volume knob that makes it simple to easily adjust the Z-5500′s volume levels without fumbling around for the controls. Despite the diminutive size of the control module, it will allow you to command just about all of the Logitech Z-5500′s features.

The sheer versatility of the Logitech Z-5500 is almost as impressive as the sound quality it produces. Through the numerous input jacks, you have the ability to simultaneously connect up to 6 input devices including an iPod compatible audio jack that is integrated into the control module. I've seen numerous other speaker systems that are much more expensive than this one with comparable audio quality, but not anywhere near the flexibility that the Logitech Z-500 offers.

With an impressive 505 total watts, the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system blows many home theater sound systems out of the water. Logitech has a winner on their hands with this offering. The only negative that I can see that may put some consumers off would be the price. With a little bargain shopping online, the high price can be mitigated somewhat. If you do decide to take the plunge and purchase the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with the system.

Do your research, read reviews, and compare prices to decide if the Logitech Z-5500 sound system is right for you.
