The Flip Video Camera - Which Model Should You Get, and Where

The Flip UltraHD and Mino HD video cameras are now out in new models, and this is an excellent opportunity to get yourself a good, user-friendly video camera for a very reasonable price. Before I tell you where you can find the Flip video camera for a good price, I want to compare the different models of the Flip video camera.

The different models of the Flip video camera

The Flip video cameras come in 3 models: The Mino HD, the Slide HD and the Ultra HD. The Mino is the lightest of them all (the Ultra HD is about twice as thick than the Mino), making it very comfortable to put in any pocket. This makes it the first option for many.

The Slide's version big advantage is its screen: It has a 3'' LCD inch, as opposed to a 2'' screen for the Ultra and the Mino. The resolution on this screen is of course also higher than the other two models: it is 400 x 240 as opposed to 300 x 240 for the other two. This screen makes it come in bigger dimensions than the Mino, but it is still smaller than the Ultra.

The biggest disadvantage of the Mino and the Slide versions in my opinion is their batteries: They come with a non-replaceable rechargeable battery. You don't want to know how many times my rechargeable batteries died out in the middle of my daughter's preschool birthday party, best video camera for live streaming on in the middle of the trip, etc. The Ultra HD comes with replaceable batteries: either 2 Double-A batteries (for the 4G model) or 3 Triple-A batteries (for the 8G model). Always keep at home a few extra batteries for the model you have, so you can take them with you when going out to any event in which you would like to film. Actually, I always keep at home a packet of Double A's and a packet of Triple-A's. With all those electric appliances we have at home (cameras, remote controls, wireless phones... ) you never know what type you will want next.

The Ultra HD video camera is admittedly a bit thicker and heavier than both the Mino and the Slide, but it is still pocket-size: 4. 25'' x 2. 19'' x 1. 17''. Men will usually have big enough pockets for the camera in either their pants or suit, and most women will put the camera in their purse anyway, unless they are going hiking and will again have big enough pockets or put it in their pouch.

Tips on getting the flip video camera for a good price

When buying anything on the internet you should always have two main considerations in mind: First of all, you would like to get it cheap. Second, and no less important, is that you would like to get it from a trustworthy and reliable place. New internet stores are opened every day. You want to be sure you are getting the real thing and not some fake, and you want to get it with a warranty and a good replace or refund options.
