Security Management - PSOS

Effective security management can help avoid information leaks, or even negative press, which can impact a corporation's finance's and public image. With efficient security management, organizations must be prepared to confront emergency situations without interrupting the continuity of service.

The contribution of security at the planning and reaction stages of a crisis is paramount. The company's security management should be provided with physical support and integrated management systems so that managers can act with confidence and efficiency. Yet, instructions about security should not only be given to managers but also be taught to all employees.

This will provide more successful security and crisis management results because now, everyone at the workplace will not only be more physically equipped with security tools, but also be better mentally prepared when crisis does occur.

There are two major types of security management; one that is pre-emptive, that is before a crisis, and the other which focuses on post crisis preparedness.

For instance, a pre-emptive security management [http://www.thepsos.com/high-security-intensive-seminar-in-israel] preparedness failure was exhibited just last week, when a Nigerian terrorist almost managed to blow-up a trans-Atlantic Northwest Airline flight to Detroit.

President Obama regarded the breach as "a systematic failure security guard company Luckily, what could have been 300 passengers dead, ended up being a failed attempt to ignite the explosive on plane.. It is unclear how this Nigerian man managed to pass security airport and bring the explosives on the plane. If, there was effective security, perhaps this hole in the system could have been avoided.

Another security type of preparedness is post or responsive security. Here, every actor such as an organization, company, or/and State should be well prepared to deal with post damaging events. These actors can partner up with each other for the development of a well-established and diverse crisis response and security plan. Each however, should be actively participating in crisis drills and simulation activities.

As was aforementioned, it is generally important to thoroughly train all workplace personnel, because if by chance there is a crisis in the workplace than all employees know the security procedure and can safely follow the crisis response plan.
